2015-2016 Colonials Win Numerous Individual Awards

Max Terhar a First Ballot ACCHL Hall of Famer, and First for GW

Although the 2016-2017 season is already underway, the 2015-2016 Colonials continue to rack up the awards.

Max Terhar, who played from Fall 2012 to Spring 2016, is the first GW hockey player to be named to the ACCHL Hall of Fame, and he did it as a first-year candidate.  During his time at GW, he captained the team his senior year, was named to several All-Star teams, won several player of the week awards, was back-to-back winner of the ACCHL hardest shot competition, and was ACCHL offensive MVP twice.  He also graduated holding the single season goal record (39), single season assist record (30-tied), single season points record (69), career goal record (136 in 81 GP), and career point record (216 in 81GP).  Max has joined the team as an assistant coach.

A number of other players set team records in 2015-2016:

Luke Yerkovich (F) - 4th in single-season assists (24) and 5th in career assists (51)
Jake Lessick (F) - 4th in career goals (74), 3rd in career assists (68), 3rd in career assists (142)
Alex Katsihtis (D) - 4th in single-season goals (6), 3rd in single-season assists (15), and 3rd in single-season points (21)
Austin Fruchter (D) - 2nd in single-season assists (16), 5th in single-season points (17), 3rd in career assists (30), and 3rd in career points (31-tied)
Sam Powers (D) - 4th in career assists (27) and 4th in career points (31-tied)
Alex Astorga (G) - 5th in single-season GAA (3.63) and 4th in career GAA (3.63)
Dylan Cleary (G) - 1st in career wins (23.5)
Jon Moynihan (Coach) - 1st in career wins (49)

And finally, a number of players were given end of year awards:

Max Terhar - ACCHL Offensive MVP and First-team All-Star
Kevin Zhang - ACCHL All-Rookie Team
Dylan Cleary - ACCHL Goalie MVP and First-team All-Star
